Expo 2020 is ready to welcome the world in October after safely and successfully hosting 100,000-plus visitors to the Sustainability Pavilion

    Terra - The Sustainability Pavilion

More than 100,000 visitors have experienced Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion – and they loved it, with engaging, thought-provoking content, Expo’s rigorous on-site health and safety precautions, and efficient, free transport impressing most.

The Expo Pavilions Premiere ended on Saturday after a safe and successful three-month run that proved Expo 2020 is ready to welcome the world when it opens on 1 October.

Supported by Expo’s Official Partners and International Participants, Expo perfected a range of event-time systems and approaches to enhance and safeguard the visitor experience during the limited showcase. Aligning closely with the world’s leading medical authorities and scientific advice, a number of best practices were incorporated site-wide – ensuring the well-being of everyone involved, be they Expo staff or visitors.

According to the Pavilions Premiere Satisfaction Survey, guests ranked on-site health and safety precautions above eight on a scale of one to nine, with visitors similarly impressed with the Expo Rider service – a dedicated, free of charge, public bus service that ferried visitors between Dubai Mall and Expo 2020 every 30 minutes.

Following their visit to Terra, which probes the balance between humanity and nature and urges visitors to consider how their actions and consumerism impact the planet, more than 90 per cent of those surveyed also said they were inspired to change their behaviour – from saving water to making a conscious effort to use less plastic.

While the preview event is now closed, there is less than six months before Expo 2020 opens in its entirety, welcoming more than 190 countries and inviting visitors from every corner of the globe to join the making of a new world and discover life-changing innovations that will have a meaningful, positive impact on both people and planet.
