Hear Robo-Beethoven in Germany Pavilion

A 21st-century take on the legendary composer’s music is among the highlights of the Germany Pavilion’s cultural programme

Music played by robots was not a concept even dreamed about when Ludwig van Beethoven was born almost 250 years ago – but at the Germany Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, visitors will be able to catch a futuristic take on the legendary composer’s work.

As part of its cultural programme, the pavilion’s Culture Lab is bringing to life Beethoven’s music via classical, rock, acoustic and electronic performances by robots.

The centuries-crossing attraction will be one of the top draws in an array of German cultural must-sees showcased across 173 days of fun, with the stage in the pavilion’s atrium boasting performances on every day of the Expo.

The line-up will also include sports – both physical and virtual, with weekly eSports competitions – games, visual arts, performers and dance, in collaboration with German universities, academies, ensembles and institutions.

The Culture Lab is part of a wider lesson of a lifetime at the Germany Pavilion, designed around a campus theme that also includes The Energy Lab, The Future City Lab and The Biodiversity Lab.

Germany is one of 192 countries that will showcase its culture, history and future at the most international World Expo to date, set to run from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
