A major milestone and a celebration to remember

Dubai has marked Expo 2020’s Two Years To Go milestone in style with a special projection on the Burj Khalifa

Thousands flocked to Burj Park on 20 October to celebrate Two Years To Go until Expo 2020 Dubai.

Attendees were wowed by a specially-choreographed show at The Dubai Fountain and a stunning projection on Burj Khalifa.

Between 1700-2200, the community event welcomed people of all ages and backgrounds to share in the excitement, as the UAE prepares to host the largest event ever staged in the Arab world.

An eclectic programme featured live music performances, global cuisines, world dance and art exhibits. Three energetic flash-mob routines, synchronised to music inspired by the international cuisines created during an entertaining cooking show, were a surprise feature.

Visitors also had the opportunity to sign up as an Expo 2020 Volunteer, joining more than 15,000 UAE nationals and expats who have already registered their interest in joining the Expo family.

More than 30,000 Expo 2020 Volunteers – both Emiratis and expats – will help welcome the world to the UAE from 20 October, 2020, and many, including the 65 volunteers who supported Expo’s Two Years To Go celebration, are already taking advantage of opportunities to participate.

With 25 million expected visits and more than 200 participants, including 180 countries, Expo 2020 Dubai will bring the world together to collaborate, innovate and leave a lasting impact on the path of human progress.

We look forward to welcoming you in two years’ time.
