Are you working on a development project showing real results in improving the lives of others and helping to create a better future for us all?
If so, Expo 2020 Dubai would like to share your efforts with the world.
As part of its Global Best Practice Programme, the next World Expo is set to showcase projects that are successfully addressing any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a collection of aims to improve life across the globe by 2030.
Under the theme ‘Small Steps, Big Leaps: Simple Solutions for Sustainable Impact’, the programme welcomes projects being delivered by governments, businesses, international organisations, academia, communities and individuals around the world.
We are looking for simple but effective ideas, such as providing mobile toilet facilities for nomadic communities, or a digital banking app to empower the financially illiterate.
Projects must be easily implemented and provide tangible solutions to the world’s toughest challenges – from eradicating poverty and hunger to ensuring clean water and sanitation, peace and justice.
We would love to hear your ideas. Remember, successful applicants will be able to showcase their work to millions of visitors on a global stage at Expo 2020, propelling further action and even greater results.
Expo 2020 promises to contribute to a sustainable future, helping educate and empower people to make a change in their lives and their communities and promoting social innovation and action to create a positive impact.
By showcasing pioneering development solutions, Expo 2020’s Global Best Practice Programme is set to make this a reality for everyone.
A jury will evaluate and select projects for the programme, including representatives from the Bureau International des Expositions (the governing body of World Expos), the University of Cambridge, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, the International Renewable Energy Agency, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth and multiple agencies from the United Nations.
