New round of grants opens for social, environmental innovators
Expo Live launches fourth cycle of its Innovation Impact Grant Programme to provide funding, support and exposure to social entrepreneurs with creative solutions to global problems
In communities all over the world, individuals are tackling social and environmental challenges, such as increasing financial security, empowering women or inventing novel products that could combat desertification or plastic waste.
These inspiring people are who Expo 2020 Dubai’s innovation and partnership programme Expo Live want to hear from, as it launches the fourth cycle of its Innovation Impact Grant Programme (IIGP), offering funding, support and exposure.
Expo Live’s IIGP is already supporting 70 Global Innovators from 42 countries, evidence that innovation can come from anywhere to everyone.
The programme’s fourth cycle was officially launched during the first ever Expo Live Global Innovators Summit, held in Dubai and which brought together grantees from previous cycles of the IIGP to learn from each other, Expo’s panel of experts and its partners.
The IIGP offers entrepreneurs with creative solutions that help improve people’s lives, preserve the planet, or both, an opportunity to secure a grant of up to USD 100,000 to take their project to the next level. Expo Live is searching for projects that are already having an impact but require support to reach their full potential.
Global Innovators already receiving support from Expo Live are working in a wide variety of areas, including a Brazilian project that is developing a portable talking computer to assist visually impaired people, and a UAE-based start-up that has created a mobile app to help blue-collar workers improve their reading and writing skills.
But we know there are more innovators impacting their communities in all corners of the world and Expo Live is ready to support them.
