    • Who is participating at Expo 2020 Dubai?
      There will be more than 200 participants including nations, multilateral organisations, businesses and educational institutions. To date, 192 nations from across the world have confirmed their participation at Expo 2020.
    • When is Expo 2020 Dubai?

      Expo 2020 will run for six months from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. It will be open seven days a week, from 09:00 to 00:00 on Saturday to Wednesday, with last entry at 23:00, and 09:00 to 02:00 on Thursday and Friday, with last entry at 01:00. Pavilions open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

    • What COVID-19 health and safety measures are in place?
      We want to make sure that your visit is both enjoyable and safe. To ensure this, health and safety measures will be fully implemented across the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

    • Do I need to be vaccinated or have a PCR test to enter the site?
      This only applies to visitors ages 18 and above.
       
      If you are unvaccinated, you must present a negative PCR test certificate for a test conducted within the last 72 hours.
       
      If you are vaccinated, you must present proof of at least one dose of any COVID vaccine recognised by any Expo 2020 participating country or the World Health Organisation (WHO).  

      If you have the Al Hosn app, you can add the Expo 2020 Dubai Pass to it, so our staff can easily see your vaccination or PCR test status. Here’s how to add the Expo 2020 Dubai Pass

    • Who can get a free PCR test, where do I need to go and what do I need to bring?

      Who can get a free PCR test, where do I need to go and what do I need to bring?

      Only certain ticket categories are eligible for a free PCR test.


      Unvaccinated visitors who are over 18 and hold the following ticket types are eligible for a free PCR test:

      • 1-Day Ticket - 1 free RT-PCR test

      • Multi-Day Pass - maximum of 3 free RT-PCR tests


      The following visitors are not eligible for a free PCR test:

      • Visitors who are fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated (one dose)

      • Visitors with a Season Pass, including Jubilee Experience, Premium Experience and Family Package


      Please take the PCR test at least one day before your visit to Expo as results will take up to 10 hours. You will not be allowed into the site without a negative PCR test result.

      Proceed to the DHA Expo 2020 Testing Facility at Expo World Parking K. The centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has drive-thru lanes and a walk-thru tent. 


      To avail of the free PCR test, you must:

      • Show your valid 1-Day Ticket or Multi-Day Pass 

      • Show your original and valid passport or Emirates ID. It is mandatory to show the physical document


      Emirates ID holders should be ready to show their vaccination history on the Al Hosn app, if asked.

      Test results will be shared via the Al Hosn app and SMS. The SMS will have a link for you to download the results.

      Visitors who are not eligible for a free PCR test may still take the test at the DHA Expo 2020 Testing Facility for AED 150.

    • Where is Expo 2020 Dubai and what methods of transport can I take to get there?
      Measuring 4.38 sqkm, the Expo 2020 site is located in the Dubai South district. It is close to Al Maktoum International Airport and within easy reach of Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai and Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminals. The site also has its own Metro station, capable of transporting 22,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

    • What is an Expo Passport?
      The Expo Passport is a unique souvenir of your journey at Expo 2020. You will be able to fill your passport with stamps, stickers and autographs to document memories of your visit.
    • What will happen to the Expo 2020 Dubai site once the Expo finishes?
      In line with the Expo 2020 subtheme of Sustainability, 80% of Expo-built buildings and structures will find new life in the thriving future city of District 2020. A key pillar of Expo 2020’s aim to leave a meaningful and lasting legacy, District 2020 will be a connected global centre for the next generation of innovators, original thinkers and pioneers.

    • What is the official religion of the UAE?
      Islam is the official religion, but the UAE Constitution provides for freedom of religion in accordance with established custom. Visitors and residents are free to practise their religious beliefs, and can find places of worship such as churches and Hindu temples throughout the country.
    • What should I wear when I visit the UAE/Expo 2020 Dubai?
      The UAE’s sunny climate means that lightweight clothing is suitable to wear throughout the year. However, slightly warmer attire such as a jumper may be needed during winter or in a place with powerful air conditioning (for example, a cinema or hotel lobby). When out in public, dress codes are generally relaxed, but it is still a good idea to respect the local culture – excessively tight or revealing clothing is inadvisable, especially in family-friendly environments such as malls and restaurants.
    • How can I take part in Expo 2020 Dubai?
      There are many ways in which you can participate. The Expo Live programme offers support and funding to those with creative solutions to global challenges, the Expo 2020 Volunteers programme is welcoming more than 30,000 volunteers, the World Majlis sessions bring together current and aspiring thought leaders from across the planet, and a wide range of tender opportunities are available for those who join the Expo 2020 Dubai supplier network.
    • What accessibility features are available for people of determination?
      Expo 2020 has considered a wide range of measures to ensure we deliver an accessible Expo for everyone. A variety of services will be offered onsite, including rentals of wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles.

    • Are there prayer rooms onsite?
      Yes, there will be prayer facilities onsite. There will be signage guiding visitors to these facilities.
    • I am coming with my baby/toddler. Do you have changing rooms/facilities, a nursing room or strollers for rent?
      In our Visitor Centres, we have dedicated family toilets, breastfeeding rooms equipped with bottle-warming facilities, and changing and shower facilities in all male/female restrooms. Strollers are available for rent at Information Points, which are located by the four main entrance gates and throughout the Expo 2020 site.
    • Which items are not allowed at the site?

      The following items are restricted from being transported in to or near the Expo site, including any items that Expo 2020 or Expo determine at their discretion to be similar. You should leave these items at home otherwise they may be confiscated upon entering Expo and will only be returned when you exit.

      (i) Professional filming equipment, professional photography equipment with lenses larger than 30 cm
      (ii) Food and beverage items (except infant food and beverage, special dietary items)
      (iii) Any device with a laser beam/laser pointers or strobe lights
      (iv) Animals (except service and assistance animals, e.g. guide dogs)
      (v) Devices producing excessive noise (e.g. vuvuzelas, drums, whistles, horns) that may affect comfort and safety
      (vi) Rigid poles and sticks (except walking sticks required for mobility reasons)
      (vii) Signage and banners
      (viii) Religious, political, provocative or obscene messaging on clothing
      (ix) Items too large to be electronically screened
      (x) Any items intended for use in ambush marketing attempts
      (xi) Any items bearing the Expo 2020 logo, trade name and/or any kind of trademarks that are suspected to be counterfeit
      (xii) Drones and unmanned aerial vehicles.

      Expo 2020 reserves the right to amend this list at its sole and absolute discretion.

      The following items are strictly prohibited from being transported into or near the Expo site, including any items that Expo 2020 or Expo determine at their discretion to be similar. You should leave these items at home, otherwise this will be escalated to the Dubai Police.

      (i) All types of explosive substances and devices
      (ii) Firearms and weapons (and their parts, replicas)
      (iii) Ammunition, including fake items like bullets and toy guns
      (iv) Gas pistols and cartridges
      (v) Detonator capsules, electrical detonators, electrical flammables, detonating cord
      (vi) All controlled substances, including medications on the banned substance list as per UAE law
      (vii) Daggers, switch-blades, knives and other bladed objects
      (viii) Projectiles, including boomerangs and catapults
      (ix) Flails and knuckledusters
      (x) Electroshock equipment and stun guns
      (xi) Alcohol
      (xii) Personal protection sprays such as CS or pepper sprays
      (xiii) Fireworks, flares and smoke canisters
      (xiv) Electrical scooters, segways and other mobile devices not intended for use by people of determination
      (xv) Jammers, radio scanners, unauthorised radios, as may be indicated by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority

    • Can I buy tickets for Expo 2020?
      Yes, you can buy your tickets online. If you’re not sure which ticket to choose, you can read more about our Season Pass, Multi-Day Pass and our 1-Day Ticket, so you can make the most of your time at Expo 2020.
    • What tickets are available?

      Whether you want to spend a day or the entire season at Expo 2020, we have three main ticket types to choose from: Season Pass, Multi-Day Pass and 1-Day Ticket that adults ages 18 to 59 can purchase.

      Free tickets for the entire duration of Expo are available for kids and youth under 18, tertiary and higher education students, seniors 60 years and above, and people of determination (+1 companion at half price).

      All visitors, including those who are eligible for free tickets, must obtain a ticket to enter Expo 2020.

      Tickets for tertiary and higher education students can only be obtained from the Ticket Box Offices across the Expo Site.

    • Are there any other ticket types on sale?
      Yes. We also have tailored experiences available for leisure, business and youth visitors to Expo. Find out more from our Authorised Ticket Resellers, our Education Programmes or through Expo 2020’s Contact Centre.
    • How can I buy tickets for Expo 2020?
      You can buy tickets from our website, at the Expo 2020 entrance gates during the event, from our Authorised Ticket Resellers as part of a package, or from all ENOC petrol stations and ZOOM stores across the UAE.
    • How much do Expo 2020 tickets cost?

      Ticket prices vary depending on how much time you’d like to spend exploring Expo 2020. All prices are listed on our Tickets page.

    • Do I have to print my e-ticket(s) or can I have it on my phone?
      You can print your ticket or simply have it on your phone. We’ll just need you to zoom into the QR code of your e-ticket on your mobile phone or the Expo app.
    • Do I need to show identification to enter the Expo 2020 Dubai site?
      We recommend that all visitors have proof of identification and eligibility with them at all times.

      Expo 2020 has the right to refuse admission to visitors who are unable to present valid identification.
    • What forms of identification can I use to enter the Expo 2020 Dubai site?
      For visitors from outside the UAE:

      - Original and valid passport with name, image and birth date clearly mentioned
      - Original Student ID with name and image for Student Tickets; if the ID doesn’t have a photo please take your passport too

      For visitors from within the UAE:

      - Original and valid passport with name, image and birth date clearly mentioned
      - Emirates ID
      - Original Student ID with name and image for Student Tickets; if the ID doesn’t have a photo please take your passport or Emirates ID too
    • What is a person of determination ticket?
      Under the National Policy for Empowering People with Special Needs, people with special needs or disabilities will be referred to as ‘people of determination’ or a ‘person of determination’.

      Tickets for the entire duration of Expo 2020 are free of charge for people of determination and a 50% discount is given for one companion. The companion must enter the site with the person of determination for their ticket to be considered valid.

      The person of determination ticket is part of the Dubai government’s commitment to empower people of determination.

      All visitors, including people of determination, must obtain a ticket to enter Expo 2020.
    • If I leave Expo, can I re-enter on the same day?
      Site re-entries on the same day are valid on all tickets - you can go in and out as often as you like.
    • What and when are Expo’s peak days?
      Currently there are three official peak periods:

      - UAE’s Golden Jubilee, from 3 November 2021 to 4 December 2021
      - Christmas, from 20-28 December 2021
      - New Year’s Eve on 31 December 2021

      These days are subject to change and will be updated here.
    • I want to visit during one of Expo’s peak days, what do I need to do?
      Visits on certain days will require prior reservation, such as days when large events take place as well as other days of national and international significance. You can reserve your spot and manage your booking by logging in to your Expo account and going to your profile’s ‘Manage orders’ page. This feature will be available by September 2021.
    • For how long are my tickets valid?
      All Expo 2020 Dubai tickets can be used to enter the site from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. However, 1-Day Tickets are valid for single use; Multi-Day Passes are valid for unlimited entries for 30 consecutive days from the first day of use, between 1 October 2021 and 31 March 2022; Season Passes are valid for the full duration of the event.
    • What is Expo 2020's refund policy?
      Expo 2020 Dubai has a strict no refunds policy, and all ticket types are non-transferable after first use.
    • Can I sell my ticket?
      All Expo 2020 tickets are sold on the Expo 2020 website, by Authorised Ticket Resellers or from all ENOC petrol stations and ZOOM stores across the UAE, and are strictly non-transferable.
    • How do I recognise an Authorised Ticket Reseller?
      Authorised Ticket Resellers can be identified by the official Expo 2020 logo and seal on their booking pages. Here’s a list of our Authorised Ticket Resellers.
    • Can I exchange my tickets?
      You can upgrade your ticket to a higher ticket type (e.g. a 1-Day Ticket to a Season Pass). You can manage your booking by logging in to your Expo account.
    • How do I link my ticket to my Expo account?

    • I have priority access to certain events, how will I know which events and how can I book?

    • I’m interested in buying the Family Package, but is it only for families?
      Even if it is called a Family Package, you don’t have to be a family to use it. Among other perks, the package comes with Season Passes for two adults, and a Nanny gets to come for free (proof of occupation will be required when using the ticket for the first time, which is found on the residency page of the passport). So if you want to go with a friend instead, that’s absolutely ok. Don’t forget that the Family Package also comes with a 25% discount on 5 Multi-Day Passes, and that Expo has free tickets available for various groups.
