Our visual experience of the world converges in our mind through the lens of imagination – that’s the theory of 10th century Arab scientist and philosopher Ibn al Haytham. Perception of reality comes to focus through a myriad of knowledge and memories, from our individual to shared experiences. The artworks at Expo 2020 will be a lens to revisit these ideas in a contemporary context.
A range of public artworks will be integrated into the urban fabric of Expo 2020. Spread out across the site, the artworks create a journey of ideas, aesthetics and concepts. They will be landmarks, both today and in the future, creating an imaginary path during and after the expo, becoming an essential part of District 2020’s innovative character within the urban fabric of Dubai.
From the Al Wasl Opera to a diverse range of installations, artistic creations, workshops and performances, you’ll be engulfed in a realm of contemporary creativity.
