With only three months to go until Expo 2020 Dubai opens its doors to the world, details of three ticket tiers have been announced, with excitement going through the roof as football superstar Lionel Messi kicked off the countdown in a new video filmed at Al Wasl Plaza.

With one-day tickets priced at AED 95 (USD 26); multi-day tickets offering unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days for AED 195 (USD 53); and season passes, with unlimited entry for the entire six months of Expo 2020, costing AED 495 (USD 135), magical moments and unique memories are guaranteed for everyone.

Each of Expo’s 182 days will bring a new surprise, a new innovation and a new breath-taking sight, inspiring guests to visit as many times as possible.

Children under the age of 18 and students holding a valid student ID from any academic institution in the world will be given free entry; complimentary tickets will be available for people of determination, with their companion receiving a 50 per cent discount; and visitors ages 60 years and above can also enter for free.

Tickets will go on sale online at expo2020dubai.com on 18 July. They will also be available via more than 2,500 Authorised Ticket Resellers, including online travel agents, tour operators, hotel groups and airlines from 100-plus markets around the world.

Expo 2020 updated more than 1,000 of the world’s leading media during its virtual Global Media Briefing, where organisers shared an overview of media operations and content opportunities during the six-month mega-event, which runs from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Building momentum for the first World Expo ever to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, the Global Media Briefing covered topics including programming, activations, bespoke Expo journeys and charting the course for business in a post-pandemic world.

Messi, meanwhile, hits the target in a new video to coincide with three months to go until Expo 2020, in which he spectacularly kicks a football into Al Wasl Plaza through the opening at the centre of its iconic dome.
