      About the company

SafetyNet began as a university project that aimed to provide a technical solution to the problem of fishermen catching non-target species when they fish. It has grown into a team of 12, working in fisheries around the world where bycatch poses the biggest problems. Light-emitting devices, called Pisces, use visual stimuli to attract and repel different species so they can be caught or released in a much more selective way, reducing bycatch by up to 90 per cent. Designed with fishermen, for fishermen, they are affordable and can be retrofitted to many types of fishing gear.
